Job Listing: 18701
A family of four, on the Lower East Side, needs to hire an experienced, educationally focused, Spanish-speaking Nanny to care for their two children (one toddler and one elementary-aged child). Responsibilities include: school pick-up, accompanying the children to after-school sports and activities, engaging them in age-appropriate developmental play and learning opportunities, assisting with evening routines, preparing simple meals for the children, handling children’s laundry, maintaining their bedrooms and play areas, and assisting with the organization of shared family spaces (the family employs a housekeeper). Native-level Spanish fluency is required, as the Nanny will communicate exclusively in Spanish with the children to provide a fully immersive language environment. Candidates should have 5–10+ years of professional childcare experience, ideally complemented by a degree or background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field. A valid passport, strong swimming skills, and the ability to travel extensively—both domestically and internationally, including summers in Europe and the Hamptons—are required. A driver’s license is preferred but not required. Candidates must be city-savvy, comfortable navigating New York City using public transportation with children, enjoy working in a home with a friendly dog, and be at ease in a household where a parent is frequently working from home. The guaranteed schedule is generally Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with flexibility for full-day coverage during school holidays and occasional evening or weekend support as needed. Salary range: $40–$55+/hour, plus a health insurance contribution. Start date is August 8th. The family is ready to begin interviewing immediately
